Vehicle sitting in Roadway Leads to Multiple Charges

On Saturday, March 8, 2025, a Deputy was on his way home when he came across a vehicle sitting in oncoming traffic, facing the wrong way at Union Hill Rd/ Mcanally Rd in Union Grove. The deputy approached the vehicle to offer assistance. He made contact with the driver who refused assistance and stated she was not in the road. Through the interaction, reasonable suspicion was acquired to believe the driver was under the influence of alcohol or narcotics.
The deputy asked for her ID and for her to exit the vehicle. She refused multiple times and had to be removed from the vehicle. During this process, the subject continued to fight the deputy and to resist arrest.
Once the subject was detained, a K9 deputy was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics. Upon a search of the vehicle, 2.7g of Methamphetamine was located and various Drug Paraphernalia.
Deputies arrested Shauna Marie Payne, 43 of Grant, charging her with:

She was transported to and booked in the Morgan County Jail. Bond: $2,200.00.
