On March 31, 2025, the Morgan County Sheriff's Fugitive Unit executed a Grand Jury arrest warrant at a residence on County Rd 460 in Trinity. 

Deputies arrested Walter Scott Simpson, 53 of Hartselle. He is a convicted sex offender and is charged with a SORNA Violation.

  15-20A-10 - Failure to Verify Required Registration with Law Enforcement

The subject was transported to and booked in the Morgan County Jail. Bond $2,500.

Sex Offenders are required to register with Law Enforcement in accordance with the Sex Offender Registration Notification Act (SORNA). They must register Quarterly, starting with their birth month and every 3 months thereafter. Additionally, the Sheriff's Office regularly conducts compliance checks.
