Sheriff Office Fentanyl Investigation Leads to Arrest

On April 8, 2025, during an ongoing investigation into the illegal distribution of Fentanyl, Agents with the Morgan County Sheriff's Office Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Simmons Rd in Hartselle.
During the investigation, Agents conducted a controlled purchase of Fentanyl from the residence. During the ensuing search warrant, agents arrested:
Mark Tyler Mayfield, 33 of Hartselle, and charged him with:
- 13A-12-212 - Dangerous Drugs-Possession Of Dangerous Drugs Fentanyl
- 13A-12-260 - Unlawful Possession Drug Paraphernalia
- 13A-12-260 - Unlawful Possession Drug Paraphernalia
- Warrant: BOND REVOCATION- POSS/REC CONTROL SUBSTANCE
- Warrant: BOND REVOCATION- POSS/REC CONTROL SUBSTANCE
- Warrant: BOND REVOCATION- PARAPHERNALIA
He was transported to and booked in the Morgan County Jail. No Bond due to the Bond Revocation warrants.
